Friends of the Library
For more than 40 years, the Friends of the Louis Bay 2nd Library and Community Center has successfully worked to stimulate public awareness and encourage use of the Library as an informational, educational, and cultural center for people of all ages.
The Friend is duly incorporated as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and membership is open to all Hawthorne and area residents.
The Friends of the Library aid and support the Library's development through fund-raising and community activities including the on-going Book Sale, magazine sponsorship, concerts, events and theatrical programs for adults and children, and scholarships for high school students who reside in Hawthorne.

Ongoing Book Sale
Book Sale location is in the Library's loft area, accessible by the stairs to the right of the Reference Desk or the elevator near the public computers.
Current hours are :
- Mondays, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
- Tuesdays, 10:00am - 12:00pm
- Saturdays (1st and 3rd of the month, only), 10:00am - 12:00pm
